We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structured Cabling Technicians to join our team. The technician will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems for voice, data, and audio-video networks. The ideal candidate has experience working in commercial and industrial environments and can read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and floor plans.

Role: Structured Cabling technicians (senior and junior)

Location: Ottawa with some international travel

Reports to: Infrastructure Partner

Responsibilities include:

  • Installation and testing of optical and copper cabling systems,

  • Installation of various technical equipment and hardware

  • Build, dress, and manage network and AV racks, patch panels, and cable management systems

  • Install various technical hardware

  • Conduct testing and certification of cable systems using industry-standard equipment (e.g., Fluke testers)

  • Troubleshoot and repair systems as needed

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics

  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards (e.g., EIA/TIA, BICSI) and local codes

  • Work in ceilings, walls, crawl spaces, and various construction or finished environments

  • Collaborate with project managers, IT teams, and contractors to deliver projects on time

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, service calls, and inspections

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in structured cabling, AV, and networking preferred but not mandatory

  • Understanding of BICSI, EIA/TIA standards, and general low-voltage best practices

  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in cable and AV installations

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
