Fiber in the Horizontal: What's Old is New Again

CommScope’s ICT Field of Vision presentation takes a current look at an architecture that is tried and true.

On Thursday, August 26, CommScope’s Ronna Davis delivered a closing ICT Field of Vision Presentation at BICSI’s 2021 Fall Conference. Davis’s presentation was titled “Is It Time for Fiber? Horizontal Fiber Architectures for Buildings and Campuses.” In it, she described why now is an appropriate time to take a look at both architectures and applications for horizontal fiber-optic cabling systems. She emphasized that the two—architectures and applications—are different from each other, and users should think twice before sacrificing an architecture for the sake of an application.
